You might wish to read the answer to sherryj34 "history of house" on this forum. Hope it helps. In addition, you might check with neighbors or realtors who might know the history of the house in question. Neighborhood organizations/associations might also be knowledgeable if you approach them in the correct manner. Rather than ask bluntly "Is this house haunted?" You might ask if they know or could direct you to the previous owners and if there were any reports of unusual occurrences in that house. That might peak their interest and prompt more questions so that you can feel out the situation and see if they are amenable to further discussion on the house in question.
