Advise on Luggage

I am going to be travelling with my daughter this summer for about 2-3 weeks overseas. My luggage is about 10 years old and "well worn." I would really like to purchase some new luggage, but don't want it to fall apart on me while on the trip. I would like to get either a 3 or 5 piece set without breaking the bank. Does anyone have any good advise on durable but not extremely expensive luggage?

Thanks!!!

Tumi is considered "top notch" but you'll pay out the nose for it.

We use good ole Samsonite. We've beaten it up pretty good and it's still hanging in there after about 13 years.

I think if you stick with a big reputable retailer (Sears, etc.), look close at the warrantee info, and grill the sales guy good about what's popular, you'll find luggage in your price range that will last you at least 10 years.

Ok....

OK Lol.. its hard to give advice because this thing depends so much on so many things... e.g ur exact price range.... your gender.... if you like soft or hard based luggage.... and if your a brand concious person.

But since your asking this question now... definately go to 'www.luggageonline.com' they've gotta sale going on (and also free shipping). Apart from samsonite luggages (on luggageonline.com.... most samsonite luggages go for around around $90 - $140 a piece). I would say thats not bad (trust me.... they are good value). If you want durability buy a bag from samsonite or delsey.

I own a set of Kenneth Cole 'Coast to Coast' bags.... they are good quality and are around $180 a piece - but from what i've seen... I think they wont last for another 3-4 months.

So yeah...... check luggageonline.com for delsey or samsonite.

Btw.. cheap luggage (e.g. under the $100 boundary) never last long.
