I just happened to notice that all travel between Canada and Mexico MUST pass through the U.S.A. Unless, of course it is a boat of some sort. This deprives all Canadians who wish to go to Mexico (or vicinity) of a possibility to avoid the U.S.A. and their customs. The reason why I have asked this question is because I know that by some international agreements it SHOULD be possible to reach another country WITHOUT geographical limitations (E.g. Trinidad and Tobago have Venezuelan coast quite close; in case Venezuela changes its politics, it would cost the democratic Trinidad and Tobago a lot to switch their mainland route to another country, Guyana or some other). Bearing in mind the power and capacity of the U.S.A., it would be almost impossible to perform such a trip if the U.S.A. is biased and intereferes with such a voyage. So, let me refrase my question: How much "international" are waters around the U.S.A. if one wishes to come from Canada directly to Mexico (or vice versa from Mexico directly to Canada)?
