What does epic mean? My friends say it all the time to a movie or a band. My sister told me, that it was something funny on a different way, my brother told me, that I was something who was awesome or great. Is that true? Or does it mean something else?
You can look in any dictionary, including online, just by typing it into search.
But if you mean the latest slang for the best and greatest, sure, epic sounds about right. Maybe your friend is the one to start a trend. Every few years slang gets reinvented.

Well it also depends on how your friend means it, you should ask her.
It can just be that she thought the movie or band was AWESOME.
But "technically" we have epic bands such as Queen or My Chemical Romance, meaning their music has emotional highs and lows, will sometimes use full orchestras or choirs for drama, and the vocalist is VERY dramatic.
Epic movies are those such as Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter where the hero faces insurmountable odds and basically dies and comes back to life in order to save the world.
However, many young people just use epic to mean that whatever they're talking about is a big deal.

Unless your room transends the normal bedroom, its not epic, for example if you had a glass floor with a huge fish tank underneath full of exotic fish, that would be EPIC!, if you just got new curtains, its not epic, its nice.
If your friend did something amazing, out of the ordinary, something massive, then you could say your so epic right now, if they did something really stupid it could be classed as an epic fail....
Try using the word associated with events that are a big deal.

This is all very entertaining. I want a fish tank under a glass floor. With someone to take care of it.
You could enrich your vocabulary of superlatives by using words from the past, such as (starting around 1950?) hip, cool, rad, far out, out of sight, out of state, and of course more recently, bad and fat.
I never stopped saying cool and far out.
