Works calendar problem

I can't seem to enter any appointments in Microsoft works calendar. When I try to enter anything, (name, address, date, time) it will change it to the first letter or number typed and that is all. I go in under the day screen and can input under a time for the beginning of the appointment but when I try to input the ending time everything changes to the first letter or number in all the fields.
