Pinnacle Studio 11

I have been on two live chats with techs from Pinnacle for four hours today and still don't have an answer to my problem. Can someone please help? I have a Dazzle Instant DVD
Recorder attached to my VCR (where I am trying to convert a VHS tape) via yellow video and red/white audio cords. I have the other end connected to my computer (burner) via USB cable. (I also at one point tried an S-video cable with no results) The problem is: I start the VHS tape - I can see it playing and hear it on my screen,
as soon as I click Capture, the screen goes black and silent. As soon as I click stop capture, I can hear and see it again. However, it is not burning to the DVD. I have checked and double checked everything they told me to, including downloading the newest driver 2.0 - since I upgraded from Studio 10, that came with the Instant Recorder, to Studio 11. I have gone under Pinnacle Studio Plus Setup Options and changed things around to see if it would help at all. The closest I came was I changed Presets from MPEG.1/2 or MPEG.4 to DivX - (seems like I used that maybe for my new video camera). So, when set to DivX it will keep playing once I click on Capture Video for about a second, then the whole program just instantly shuts down and disappears from my screen. All the ads and reviews for this thing says how simple it is to convert VHS straight to DVD - quick as a snap, and even after 4 hours with 2 techs, I can't get it to work. I have used it in the editing mode and burned DVD's though, I just can't get it to burn straight to the DVD Burner and I have verified that
the drive is switched to the burner and not my C Drive.
Thanks for any and all help you can offer.
