    No disk in drive error
    I have a Dell E510 with 1G of memory.
I loaded Money and had the above message. If I clicked cancel 4-5 times it would go away. This has gone on intermittently for 3 months.

I have just loaded MGI Photosuite and cannot get past FILE without the message. I can use Money but not Photosuite. Neither program requires the disk after loading. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both twice with no luck. Both programs work in other computers. Other programs I have loaded have no problem like this.

Dell was no help (of course). ANy thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to our world. We have a Dimension (with 80 Gb hard drive) and 3 weeks ago got the same thing. Of course, our warranty has run out and I just started searching the internet to find out what the deal was. Ours was saying we had a failure of a disk drive that didn't exist.

The code error search results and with talking to computer gurus, I was told the hard drive was failing. Dell uses Maxtor hard drives, which I have since learned are the cheapest, junkiest ones on the market. A Maxtor 80 Gb drive costs around $35.

We went to Ebay and purchased a 200Gb Seagate hard drive for $58. We did a backup of everything on the computer, found all the installation disks and I replaced the hard drive. It was quite simple to do, too.

We haven't had a problem since.

I'm not positive yours is the same thing, however try googling your error and see if you can find it in the Dell chat.

    Good luck.
