.dat files

Hi,
Since I don't know the name of the .dat file you want to open, it's hard to say how to open it.
I do know that if you try opening internet or email files such as index.dat, all you will see is "computer" language. These are "language" files, not meant to be read.
The index.dat files can be rather large over time, and if you wish to know how to delete them, and have them automatically start over again, please post back.

E-mail dat's can be opened with notepad, just right click and select open with.

Multi media files can be opened with Windows media player, same as above.
