My Scanner Doesn't automatically install itself, what do i do??

I have a Packard Bell, Diamond 1200 scanner, and the instructions say...."The windows operating system automatically detects your scanner and updates your system configuration"....the only thing is, its doesn't automatically detect it, what do i do? Please help x

Scanner

Hi,
Good suggestion by the other post. As a rule of thumb, you can go to any hardware (such as scanner, printer) manufacturer's website, find your model number, then click on "downloads" links to find any update patches, also finding driver files for that model.
