Re: hacking the passwords of windows

With Win 98, go the password icon in Control Panel to set passwords.

But don't expect us to help you crack passwords.

Re: hacking the passwords of windows

shah1419, hi, scottgem is right. You'll be asking for trouble if you want to crack passwords. There are many ways to do it illegally, but we are not bad hackers or crackers..Sorry. However, if you want to crack your own passwords to test it safely, there is a website that you can go to. With your permission, that website will attempt in real-time to find your passwords legally. If you would like to try that, please post here again, and I will give you the link.

Elina, I have a client who has just let his IT person go and now cannot get into his server, he may have changed it. Can you give me the link you spoke of to get in so he can change it? Is this a trustworthy site, no adware, etc.

Passwords

Hi,
Here is a site, from Google search, public material, written by one of the World's most respected magazines, PCMag. This is all public information, viewable by anyone.

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1159956,00.asp

You can also find sites like this yourself, from any search engine, such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc.

This particular site may give you some good information about other sites.
Best wishes,
fredg

Hacking

Whose hacking who?

As we all know there are sites on the web which 'allow' you to download game cheats, movies, aka DivX format, other products, which normally cost an arm and a leg,and of course, hacks for good old Windows.

However, before we all get smart and think, yep,we've outfoxed Redmond. How many of us downloaded the latest security updates for XP on Tuesday? (Feb 8th).One of the updates is called the "Malicious Software Removal Tool".Dont bother searching for it,just trust me,it's there on your hard drive!!

It's an anti-spyware product.However,it does'nt tell you what spyware it's removing.According to Microsoft it's "malicious" spyware?

Come again?

According to reports, this 'tool' reports back to Microsoft data on what it has done on YOUR computer.

Thanx for letting us know guys.

Hack Windows and later this year when you have to 'prove' that you have a legal copy, whatever version, dont be surprised when cartoon Bill pops up on your monitor screen, wags his finger, and says "naughty naughty!!"

Stay legal please,
Nez.

Get Firefox.
Use Linux.

Sorry, but you have to reinstall.
You can NEVER trust the binaries on a compromised system.

By the way, once someone has physical access to your computer, the game is over. You can make things much more difficult with an encrypted root filesystem (with the key hidden far away), but you really need to put the box in a locked environment if you want real security.

As for cracking local passwords on a machine where you have unrestricted local access to the machine...well, worst case scenario you can yank the hard drive, put it in your computer, and reset the password...

If you can't figure out how to do this yourself (i.e. your google skills are lacking), you probably shouldn't be doing it.
