Radiometeric dating vs the sun's rate of decay

We have radio meteric dating which says that our planet had life on it about 65 to 70 million years ago. We have proven factual evidence (courtesy of the observatory in England) that the sun has a rate of decay of about 5 feet per hour. If we were to take the two and mesh them together, we would have such high temperatures and high radiation levels from the sun that life could not have exsisted 65 to 70 mya, not to mention that we would be in the sun (crispy fried). Can anyone make sence out of this without the use of assumptions, please... all i want is facts.
Thank you
