    Condiment Packets
Does anyone know how condiment packets are made? We were having Chinese for dinner, and after were looking at the soy sauce packets and wondered how they do that.

    Thanks!

Packages like that usually arrive at the packaging plant as a long strip of plastic with the labeling pre-printed on it. The machinery would roll the strip lengthwise and heat seal the two edges together as it wraps around a nozzle that dispenses measured quantities of the product. As the strip pulls the filled strip away from the nozzle another heat sealer would simultaneously seal the top of the packet, seal the bottom of the next and probably cut the two packets apart.
