Liberal Quakerism

I am curious to know more about this religion. Have been reading a few different websites online, but that has just let me confused. Anyone out there who is a liberal quaker or has a good understanding of what they believe?

If anyone is out there... please let me know, I have a few questions.

Thanks!

I tried looking it up but got probably equally confused.
The sites used so many names like Unitarian and Religious Society of Friends I am not even sure I know what a traditional Quaker is any more.

I attended a college run by liberal quakers. They are Christians. They do not accept any way but their own. If you do not agree with one or more of their beliefs, you are going to their hell for your sins.

Hello Margo,

for rather well detailed information on Liberal Quakerism just go to the following website :

The Authenticity of Liberal Quakerism - by Chuck Fager

A simple Google search with "Liberal Quakerism" brought up tens of interesting websites on this branch of Christianity. What kind of poor search engine are you using?

And I note that Linda "NoHelp4u" kept to the meaning of her handle ....

At least she knew she wasn't alone.
Your link is an interesting basic but it does not say WHAT they believe that is different to the traditional Quakers. It doesn't get into the various liberal quaker off shoots and their beliefs and the distinctions between them where the confusion sets in.

Your link:
Liberal Quaker 101
I am sure Margog covered that already.
Your 'equation' was like telling someone how to add and subtract and assuming it covered questions about geometry.

margog
I think with their religious variations the only way you are going to get any REAL answer is to ask specific questions on specific topics

The question did not ask for "what is different to the traditional Quakers".
It clearly asked "Anyone out there who is a liberal quaker or has a good understanding of what they believe?".
My link provided precisely the information asked for : a link to a website where you can find "a good understanding of what they believe" .
Linda K. ("Sapphire") : just as on previous Q&A boards, your overblown ego and your intolerance are once more your problem ....

LOL!!! Proves you really do not know me AT ALL!

Your link is 101 it doesn't cover their beliefs on many things or clear up what is confusing between the differing Liberal Quaker beliefs. Example simoneaugie stated that they believe anybody that does not agree with what they believe is going to hell and on several of the sites I looked up it said Few liberal Quakers believe in direct reward and punishment, heaven and hell, or second coming of Christ. The primary focus is non-dogmatic -- God is love, love is eternal, and our actions in life should reflect love for all of humanity. They believe ultimately that all will be saved.

What are their doctrines?
Do they believe the Church over the Bible, or Jesus?
What do they believe about after life?
What do they believe about secular, traditions, rituals, doctrines?
WHAT do they believe?

If you look at more than one site there are many that conflict.
Like I said your site is good but NOT in depth with their beliefs and it would be helpful if Margog gives more specific examples of what she wants to know about them.

overblown ego and your intolerance are once more your problem ....

WHY? because I pointed out that Liberal Quaker is way more complex than ONE site
and that is why it got confusing to her?

You criticized me first on this post with the
And I note that Linda "NoHelp4u" kept to the meaning of her handle .....
WHY? because after reading several sites I could see what she meant by being confused?

Seems to me that what you state in your previous post proves me spot on !
May I suggest that you leave this topic now to margog85 and her question ?

Credo.. if anyone was interested in your athiestic opinion they would have asked a question on another forum. Magog is interested to know more about religion, you CLAIM you are not religious (despite the fact that you are part of the Humanistic religious movement) and yet you are on every last religious discussion.
You need to seriously get a life besides harrassing theists on religious forums. seriously do have a job? Kids? wife? You are here 24 7 harrassing people with your wild Big bang CLAIMS.

Silly little sassyT, the liar who claimed to have a degree in Biology, but was found out only to be a student ....

And what is so funny in this sassyT : although you have accused me of many things in the past, you have never been able to back that up without telling an untruth. You never have been able to prove me to be lying. Because I do not lie. I do not have to. I have logic and ratio at my side !!!

By the way : I do not harass anyone.

Since I came to AMHD I have stated clearly that there is objective supporting evidence for a super fast expansion of space-time very early in the process that was at the basis of the origin of our universe. A process popularly known as the Big Bang.

I also stated clearly that there is objective supporting evidence for the process of evolution, a Scientific Theory that describes the development from the first living cell to all that lives today.

Neither process is 100% fully supported. None on them ever will receive 100% full supporting coverage. Impossible after such a long long time.
But both have reliable scientific evidence at their side. And that can't be stated from any format of religion. Religious claims do not have any objective supporting evidence at their side !

sassyT : This is margog85's topic on Liberal Quakerism. I simply replied to her question with an on-topic reply that answered to her question. That you and Nohelp4u found it necessary to spew your intolerant and moronic venom here at me in an off-topic post is for you two to defend.

If you want to argue and/or fight me, than do so on an appropriate discussion board.
As for here : I suggest we leave this topic on Liberal Quakerism to margog85.
