Religion and holidays

Aside from Jehovah's Witnesses, are there other religions that do not celebrate holidays and celebrations (like baby showers). I met someone who belongs to a religion like that but I can't quite remember the name. It was something like the Word of Light or Word of Life. Does anyone have an idea what it might be?

I am not about the Word of Life Church. I do know that some fundamentalist pentecostal churches do not celebrate holidays and/or birthdays, since they are not Biblically based days of celebration. When I was married, my husband got involved in one, whose Chuch base was in southern Indiana. We could not even celebrate Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Alot will depend on what you mean by "celebrate", there are many that will not allow easter bunnies and santa claus as part of easter and christmas but they may have family or church dinners, they may do other things.
