    Holocaust vs. Lebensraum
If you ask just about any knowledgeable person what the worst thing was that happened during WWII, they are most likely to tell you that it was the Holocaust, in which 6 million Jews were exterminated as a result of Hitler's implementation of the "Final Solution."

However, between 20 and 27 million Soviet citizens were killed in WWII as a result of Hitler's policy of "Lebensraum" (elbow room), in which the Slavic peoples to the East were also seen as inferior to the Arians and slated for extermination so that Germans could expand in their place.

How have we come to remember and honor the 6 million and yet have forgotten the 20 million?

    Re: Holocaust vs. Lebensraum
    Hello jim
My mother put it best when she said, "The squikest wheel gets the most grease",
If my mind serves me correct, the count was somewhere in the range of 6,000,000 jews, but the total holocost was placed somewhere around 11,000,000 people all together.
Which included catholics, blacks, jipsys (who are still gettoed today in easterm europe), and none arians what ever that is.

At one time I saw 243 people dead all at the same time, well that was the count I was given when it was all over, my heart sank, I was never the same again. I was a gulf war Vet that drove though most of the carnage, not a pritty sight, that day forth changed me FOREVER !

I hope this helps but to give you an idear of the amount of people head: http://www.softsynth.com/faces/
I wanted to express just how disgusting war was, but body counts are not enough.

Just think peace, and express the plight of those that died never forget them, and never let them be forgotten

    Holocaust
    Hello Jim,
According to Hitler himself, his main reason and justification for invading Russia was the fact that the Jews had taken over, or "replaced" Russia.
"For centuries Russia drew nourishment from this Germanic nucleus of its upper leading strata. Today it can be regarded as almost totally exterminated and extinguished. It has been replaced by the Jew. Impossible as it is for the Russian by himself to shake off the yoke of the Jew by his own resources, it is equally impossible for the Jew to maintain the mighty empire forever. He himself is no element of organization, but a ferment of decomposition. The Persian empire in the east is ripe for collapse. And the end of Jewish rule in Russia will also be the end of Russia as a state." (Mein Kampf, 655)
This thus made it correct, in his mind, for him to go to war with Russia. After all, it was the Jews!
Having said this, maybe we should add the Russian citizens to the count of slaughtered Jews, since that was Hitler's prime objective! In any event, both disasters are true atrocities, and counting bodies does not lessen either.
    Peace and Love,
    Mark
