This should be simple, On the back of your satellite you will find a number of different outputs, and on the back of your DVD recorder you should find a bunch of inputs ( in the case that you are using a stand alone dvd recorder, if your using a computer let me know) anyways just to get it working try hooking output Yellow (Video) to input yellow and the same with White and Red (left and right audio) once you do this your satellite will always be outputting what ever channel you are watching to the DVD recorder. At that point bring your DVD recorder up on your tv and you should be able to select your input (may be auto sensing) and view what is on your satellite. HIT record and sit back and enjoy.
