Feisty Ferret

I have a baby ferret (kit) and I am having a hardest time potty training him. I have tried a few things. I put his "stuff" in the litter box and will still use the restroom in other parts of his cage. I also moved his litter box to where he was using the restroom the most and he'll go somewhere else. I bought him a ferret bed and a hammock and he will sometimes sleep in them but he will go to sleep in his litter box more than anything. I know it is sometimes difficult to train them but I cannot imagine it being this difficult. Please someone help me!!!!!!
