I need to buy a gift for my friend, who's really into horses. She really wants a new equine veternary encyclopedia, but there are so many on the market! I only ride occasionally, so I'm not the best judge. I want to buy her a good one, that she'll use for years, but not break my pocketbook in the process. Does anyone have any ideas? Even a company that comes out with good encyclopedias for other animals would be welcome as they might have horse literature as well! Please help!!

Just look for an encylclopedia with how to ride horses, breed of horses, taking care of horses, and veteranary information. All that will be great! If not just look for a good one with lots of precise Vet. information in it. For example, how to tell if the horse has laminitis and how to treat different emeergency situations. I hope this helps!

I ended up ordering her the 'Horseman's Veterinary Encyclopedia' and it was a big hit. Thanks for the advise.
