Hi,
Ghost is a program for making images of a HD on a CD. It is and is not what you want. Instead try the Ultimate Boot CD(use that as the address in the browser, or do a search); or create your own. Get Bart's PE and use it to create your own. You can find imaging software out there other than Ghost. TechRepublic has some excellent tutorials on the subject and one on doing it on a USB flash drive.
Peace,
crigby
Hi,
No disagreement with anything said so far! Ghost is a commercial product; not the only game in town. First, most of this will deal with XP; I rarely deal with anything so new I revive many an older system; many cannot stand to run the tools I bring them back with, so I have to "remove the evidence."
That said, let us begin!
For programs try:
All are free; final one is huge. Just hardware and connect time from there. Final one is the complete thing. Final word: I (and some compatriots) prefer a USB flash drive if machine will allow it. Less prone to damage and you can put an entire system with tools onto one fairly cheaply since the prices have become reasonable.
Now to get "your hands dirty" you need sysprep.exe. It is in the Deploy.cab of the Install CD. Extract and run. Wizards should carry you through along with the tutorials
Peace,
