How do I find money in a 401k?

1 Answer I worked for dairy mart and was fired due to being incarcerated in 1995. How do I find the money that I paid into the account, and how do I withdraw it? |

| First, you need to find out who the plan administartor is. They should have been sending yuo quarterly statements of your account. If yuo can't find them, I suggest that you call your former employer or anyone you may still know working there and ask for a contact number for the plan administrator. Finally, if you have not been receiving statements then you may be considered "lost" by the financial institution that runs the plan. If this is the case then by law they must turn the assets of your account over to the state. Most (maybe all?) states have programs to try and reunite lost assets with their rightful owners. I suggest that you try a Google search using the the name of your state and "unclaimed assets"and you should get to a web site that will tell you how to see if you have unclaimed assets with them. | ||||
