Need to get rid of my truck...
I am in a mess with my truck. I bought a $35,000 truck about 4 months ago. Well, I just lost my job. Even if I find another job, the salary I'll be making will not be the same or enough to make the payments. I know if I take the truck back I'll screwup my credit, but I have to get out from under this debt.
My question is (1) can I take the truck back or let them repossess it?
    (2) what will it cost me to let it go back?

You can talk to the dealer and see if they will take it back. Most likely you will lose some money because of depreciation. Even if they reposess it, you will still owe the difference between what you owe and what they can get for it.

You might be better off trying to sell it privately.

    1. Yes, you can, but that's the last thing you want to do.
    2. They'll sell it and bill you for the difference between what they got and the balance of the loan.

I'd doll it up best you can and put it up for sale. Advertise it for the payoff price or assume the loan (check with the lender to confirm it's assumable).
