finding info about bought out bank

I'm trying to find out the location of a bank that is no longer in business that was bought out by another bank , maybe more than once. to retrieve loan info I'm failry sure of the location but not the steps

Easiest thing is to start with a Google search using the old bank's name to find out who the new bank is, then call them. For example, a search on "First Union Bank" takes you right to Wachovia sites.

And if you will list the name of the orginal bank, if you have the name of the bank who bought, we may be able to do some tracking, but there is not near enough informaton.

Also the state license dept of your state, who is over banks may have info onthis also
