I saw a request just last week from someone wanting one of us to do her whole case study! Gave us the link for the reading assignment and everything.

I help, if they show that they are trying to understand the concept (and I know anything about the subject.) Most just want someone to do the work for them.

Well something like that is deffinatly not acceptable to me lol.

I can reason with one question but if its the whole assignment most likely I wont help.

Just google it. Theres lots of sites out there that give away answers, and lots more forum sites, probably even some homework ones haha.
Just dont 'miff' anyone on those sites. Lol

I like to lead the person to the answer so they know how they should approach it when the get another question (which they will) again.

"If you give a man a fish he eats for one day, teach him to fish and he eats everyday."
Kinda like that but with equations!

You aren't quite following the rationale here. Lets look at these two questions:

1) I have an assignment to create a database in Access that will run a Video Rental store. Can you tell me how to do that?

2) I have an assignment to create a database in Access that will run a Video Rental store. I have setup tables for Customer, Videos and Rentals. How do I create a form that shows all rentals for a customer?

Do you see the difference? In 1) the poster is asking us to do their asignment for them. In 2) the poster has shown they have started doing the work, but hit a stumbling block they need help with. Guess which one gets an answer?

The fact is that homework assignments are generally not handed out out of the blue. They reflect something studied IN the class. Therefore, the poster should have at least some knowledge of what they need to do. But when someone simply copies and pastes the assignment question into a post, we tend to ignore thoses since they are wanting us to do their work for them.

No I would find that acceptable. It shows you are trying to reason out the answer.
