I can't stand asda for the pure fact the qaulity reflects in the price personally I think its utter crap I'm a waitrose and sainsburys girl where the over all shopping experience is so much nicer.

Asda is amazing 40 kitkats your choice of what flavour for £2 how can you argue with that, plus the one near me is better laid out than the tesco and sainsburys, plus don't knock it being cheep, asda smart price, especially if you have no money coming in.

Im not knocking it Albear get off your box, you can still buy better qaulity if you shop around they might say there the cheapest but that's only in the leading market not places like lidl and aldi where your getting named brands for a lot flipping less.
Its personal choice and my choice is to not even enter the land of the living dead in asda the customers are a far cry from waitrose's.
Even my little brother who is a student says asda is balls compared to aldi and lidl that to me says it all he lives on less than a person on the doll a week and still manages to eat like a king.

Nothing wrong with Walmart . Americans gripe to have something to do . Everywhere Walmart goes they provide jobs and merchandise Americans want to buy.

A lot of Americans shop at Walmart and love it. They do have just about the cheapest prices around.

However, there have been reports in recent years about Walmart driving manufacturing out of business or overseas because they have so much bargaining power they can go to a manufacturer and say "no we won't pay that much for your product, we will pay this much." As a result the manufacturer has to lower their costs by moving production overseas where labor is cheaper or by cutting corners.

I have to admit that most people I know don't think about where the products they buy come from. They just want to buy it now and pay as little as possible for it so they can buy more stuff.

Because of Walmart and our frustration with low quality, slim selection, and recent recalls and warnings regarding food, clothing, and toys our family has made a concerted effort to buy local and regional. It's not cheap but it's better quality and safer. For example, some clothes from China have been found to contain levels of formaldehyde 900 times higher than considered safe!

The internet has helped us find small producers of quality items--particularly toys for this past Christmas. We buy less and stick to what we need--not everything that flies into our heads--which is really how we were used to living. It's been tough but I think it's worth it.

There's value in knowing where your food and possessions came from, who grew them or who made them. At Walmart they can't even help you find the stuff on their own shelves--here in the northeast anyway.

I have a home healthcare aide part time who has worked for Wal*Mart full time for 8 years. I hear stories of how life is for the employees there and all the inside stuff that goes on. Each day, there is a motivational meeting for the staff, a pep talk. It really is a fun place to work and the management does go out of its way to cater to the employees who are always wanting to transfer to a different department where there is less work!

Wal*Mart is a perfect place to work for someone returning to the workforce or someone who has been ill and needs to start getting back into working. Also, for someone who just wants a fun place to work. That means a lot!

The store is always very busy... Americans may say one thing, but really, they like shopping at Wal*Mart.

Some of the issues with Walmart, they move into areas and have "rumored" to break eviormental rules, hire many contractors who are not illegal to be in the country.

But one of the largest issues, is they move into a small town area, lower manh prices and put a lot of small businesses out of business.

As of late, most I shop at have long lines, no help in the departments and so on. They also are again "rumored" to hire mostly part time people so they don't have to provide them benefits.

Now I have never worked there, I seldom shop there because I prefer to shop at home town stores when possible.
