Well...
I didn't get to much backround info on the topic...

I didn't exactly google it.. Maybe I should.

To me, end of the world is just everyone dying from some horrible natrual disaster.

Actually, like the religios way
Flods
Fires
Diseases
Then Jesus comes ans takes good people.

So, the end of the world is when all the people die.

It is possible if there is a horrific nuclear disaster, I suppose.

Hey just cause you are not Mayan doesn't mean you shouldn't know about this. I don't consider my self catholic any more but I still believe in SOME of the things I have heard.

The Mayans didn't mean the end of the world as in the world BOOM life ends it means this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility. I found this at Mayan End Times Prophecy 12-21-2012

Don't know how true it is but it was interesting.

December 21, 2012 is when the Mayan calendar ends. It's about as shocking as the fact that your desk calendar ends on December 31, 2008. Doesn't mean anything other than the person that was calculating the calendar decided to stop calculating cause he figured 500 years in the future was far enough away that he didn't need to go further.

We have just learned that the earth is beginning to slowly tip on its axis. When it reaches a certain point, it will roll completely over. It will take approx. 3 seconds to complete the roll. It has been proven that it has done this before. When it does it again, the oceans and the lakes will spill over the land in 100 feet-plus waves. Islands will sink into the sea. Giant trees will be rooted up and slung about like toothpicks. Giant boulders will plumment down mountain sides and roll at 100 miles an hour. Mud and rubble will cover everything, choking all life to death.
The only people that will survive will be the ones in the space station. They will have no way of getting back to the dead planet and wouldn't if they could. They will linger on for two to three years, eating each other as they slowly die off. As the last one dies, humanity as we know it will cease.
