Security Clearence

I am currently going through the process of applying for entrance into Marine Corps OCS. I have been told that my chances of acceptance are small because a SECRET security clearance is required and my chances of obtaining one are small based upon prior arrest convictions My record was not enough to keep me from enlisting and I am currently an enlisted marine with a spotless military record. I have had no arrests or even traffic tickets since enlisting. I had an arrest when I was 14 which was put into a juvenile deferment program, two other juvenile arrest which were both dropped and one adult charge in which I plead no contest to misdemeanor battery. I was 18 when I was last arrested and am now 22. Any help or advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Hello s:

Thank you for your service. I think you'd make a great marine officer, but I'm not the one making the decision.

Ooooorah! Or is that what soldiers say?

I just heard on the radio today that, due to recruitment shortfalls, the military is relaxing their standards on previous trouble with the law. This helps you too.
