What can I do on my own land?

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have a piece of property zoned commercial (highway frontage 2). I no longer have a business license, but I sometimes would like to throw community concerts and private parties on my land. Do i need a business license for this even if I am not making money or am taking money only in the form of donations for causes? thanx, Fargo

It would be a good idea to visit your local zoning official and have a little talk. Let them know what you would like to do and see if they have any objections. It's better to work with them ahead of time than to try and work it out with them later.
