Legal right to see nephew after sister passed away?
I am so sad. :( My sister died in August 2005. For some time, her husband stayed in touch and I got to see my nephew. Now, he does not. I have tried calling, texting, e-mailing, and so on. I was wondering if I have any rights. I live in NYC.

    Thank you!

Grandparents barely have rights. Sorry, but aunts and uncles have none.

What had he said to you ? And how old is the child ?

You have no legal standing, but I would say he is trying to move on and hasn't figured out how to embrace the past. It was a terrible loss for everyone.
