| Served papers on an old cc debt in Ga. I was served papers on a credit card debt from 2002. The amount of the balance of the debt is $2200.00 (which originally started at $4000), plus they are saying that I will have to pay the court cost and 12.84% intrest per annum (whatever that is). The summons says that I have 30 days to reply. (When I find out how to reply, What happens next?) I have tried on several different occasions to eliminate this debt - to no avail. I have offered them what I could afford, which is $20 per month, but they deny it every time and insist that I pay them $100 per month. I even tried to settle the debt about 2 years ago when I came into a couple of thousand dollars. They demanded full payment. I paid them $1000 and made regular payments on the debt until about 8 months ago. Last week I was served a summons. The summons doesn't give a date to appear in court, so I called the court and they only said that I need to respond to the summons. (What does that mean and how do I do it?) I was served by the superior/state court. Are there forms that I need to fill out? Do I just say yes I agree and no I don't agree?
