Robbery Victims restitution

We were robbed over a year ago. The courts gave the perpetrators probation and they were ordered to each pay their share of the restitution. We have only received one small check from one of the young men. What are our rights, and didn't the sentence mean anything???? We were told that we could not call the probation office. I just don't understand..Thanks you for any advice you can provide. We live in NYS.

Go to the court again and make a complain against them.By the way more than 50% of court awarded restitutions have never been received ...If their probation have expired you can do a little only.If they work you will right to wage garnishment./in condition you know where they work/....or if they have some properties as their own you have to file for mortgage.

Fay36 agrees: I will look into garnishment. Thank you

If you were award restitution it is most likely a judgment, check with the court, if a judgment was issue you can attach wages or garnish accounts.

Hello Fay:

If there was somebody out there who was supposed to pay me money and they told me not to call, I don't think I would listen. What??? Are they gonna put you in jail????

I would call the PO, and the supervisor EVERY DAY. Then I would call the mayor.
