Call you insurance co. tell them about this, they will have to pay the claim to you and go after them.

Hi

normally what happens is your insurance pays out for the stolen car. If the car is found it becomes vehicle salvage since the insurance paid out for the car. Once vehicle salvage it will be categorized as category X and can then be sold to breakers for a cheap price.

From here the vehicle salvage can be broke down for car parts or scrapped, or re sold as a car.

If you did not get any insurance then the car is still yours i would imagine and you would have a case, if the insurance paid out then you in essence sold the car to the insurance people and its not your property anymore.

I had a similar incident with my vauxhall corsa. it was stolen, the insurance paid out etc i then saw it on ebay as used vauxhall parts and a breaker was breaking the car down. There is little i can do since its the breakers but it was sad to see my car which i loved, reduced to 'used vauxhall parts'.
