who has the authority to freeze a bank account?

that's a very vague question...almost like asking WHO CAN ARREST ME?

...any government agencies...fbi, dea, cia, irs, and the list goes on...

i believe credit card companies can...and not to mention the police if you're under investigation of an ongoing case...

ok how bout telecheck ? can they freeze your account with out telling you/ i read they are a fraud they've frozen accounts for un reliable reasons my statement showed a deposit this mornin and this evening there was no deposit
