Is this a hipaa violation

I work for a financial company, I was diagnosed with type I diabetes last year. I am FMLA covered and I am cleared for 8 days a month to be off work for my medical appointments and any issues that I may have. I have been having complications and had to go on a medical leave of absence. My co-workers will discuss my medical issues with each other, and make comments about my absences to each other. I have a really good friend at work that said to me that they do it behind my back in a loud manner, and that all the people in the vicinity can hear it. I am concerned because my job has done nothing about it. :

How do they know what your medical issues are? If it's just someone told someone who told someone else, then it's not a HIPAA issue. If they have somehow gotten hold of your medical records, it might be.

If your medical doctor, of if your HR department told them, you may have an issue, if they found out because you told them, or because someone saw you at the doctor, that is not a violation. other emplyees talking about you are not a violation normally, just gospit and bad taste
