bought used car

I got a used car today and it drives with the wheel pulling to the right and the locks get stuck .How long do I have to cancel the contract

I purchased a car yesterday . I drove the car and it is pulling to the right and the locks keep getting jamed . I also looked over my contract and realized that they did not give me anything for my trade in. They paid it off and put the total amount on the new car loan. How long do I have to cancel my contract I though it was 24 hours.

I think that is something that you need to take up with who you bought it from. You have no offered us enough information to help you. It sounds like the alignment is off..

Hello Alicia:

Used cars are sold "as is". That's a legal term meaning that, unless there is a warranty, or the car was misrepresented, you have until you drive off the lot to change your mind. After that, you own it.

The time in which you can cancel depends on the State but, as Excon says, used cars are "as is" unless your contract says something else. Once you drive it off the lot, it's yours.

Did you take it to a mechanic before you bought it?

You have posted twice with somewhat different circumstances - ?

In Pennsylvania a used car is "as is" unless the contract specifies something else and once you drive off the lot ... it's yours.

Take it back and ask that the repairs be made - did a mechanic check it out for you before you bought it? And there is always Small Claims Court if they won't repair it and you have to take it somewhere else but I see no way you can get out of the contract, particularly because you financed the car.

The time to pay attention to the contract, test drive the vehicle, have your own mechanic inspect the vehicle, was before you signed it and drove off the lot.

You may be able to get some help with having it repaired, that is really your only option at this point. Talk to the dealership, and if they don't offer any assistance, you could talk to the finance company, unless you purchased from a buy here pay here dealer.

I'm sorry to agree, you have no way to get out of this contract once you sign the paperwork, and drive the vehicle off the lot.

you are suppose to test drive a car, have your mechanic check on the car before you even make a offer on it.

After you sign a contract and drive the car off of the lot there is little you can do. If your contract gives you any rights those are what you need to use.
