family law - dissolution trial

I am currently in the middle of my dissolution trial (after 3 yrs of litigation) and my attorney has to leave my case due to illness. There were a number of mistakes made during trial, especially by my forensic account. i am now getting a new attorney. I want to ask for a mistrial and start the trial all over.
What are my grounds for a mistrial? When an attorney is forced to leave due to serious illness in the middle of trial, what does case law say about that and the prejudice it will cause me?
