Criminal Law: Grand theft auto

My son stole a vehicle in Kentucky and traveled to Georgia were he was arrested. He is beign charged by Georgia for transportation of stolen property and currently is held on a 7,500.00 bond in a county jail for that charge; and is also awaiting extradition to Kentucky to face charges for grand theft auto... Can anyone tell me what are the maximum penalties for both of these charges?? Thasnk you.

Hello, first of course the bond in GA is merely for show, since if he was bonded out, he does not get released merely sent to Kentucky

There are alot of facts, like who he stole the car from, and why he stole it, that can play into alot of factors, if it was a friends car and they had a fight and he drove off,

or if he popped the steering lock and hot wired the car.
And if there is damage to the car, there will most likley be charges for that added, or if property in the car is missing additional charges for that.

But as excon said on the other post, getting arrested and convicted is two different things.

He will have to be sent back to KY and stand trial there, since GA can not send him to trial untill it is proved in KY that it was stolen.

What he needs is a good lawyer.

You posted this twice, excon answered in the other post and I assume saw no reason to repost what the said the first time.

I read both posts, and saw no reason to post on the other question which was just the same as this
