    Child support garnishment on structured settlement
    Can child support garnish a structured settlement from a personal injury award in the state of California?

    Hello N:

    I'd think they could. Why do you think they can only get money from your paycheck?

    Beyond that, why don't you want the best for your child? Don't you think you should support him? Apparently, you don't think you should, otherwise the state wouldn't be garnishing your paycheck...

    But, I think you should, and I HOPE the state takes your money to feed your kid.

    What was the settlement for, but more than likely they could go after their entire amount.
