Wrongfully accused

I am employed in the UK. I have been wrongfully accused of opening a colleagues wageslip and have proof I did not do this. What action can I take against the person accusing me of this. Slander?

Thanks

Did it cause you any damages or loses?
Don't know about the UK but you have to have damages or loses.

Well no but i have been told that i could be dismissed for this - its ongoing at the moment but I have witness to prove i did not do it. It is causing me a great deal of stress and i feel uncomfortable in this persons presence.
