I was at the kansas highway patrol today trying to get a 20 year old trailer that I got with a boat last week titled and tagged but looks like the state of Iowa folks registered it with a bogus vin number and the state people in iowa did it,this number was only 15 digits and a vin is 17 the hp officer called the boat company and told me if it was close she would work it out. however it came back from the boat company that the trailer that it was sold with had a very different number
she suggested that I could file for a quite title but that she could not advise me any more than that .
How do I do that. is it something a layman can do or will I need a to hire a attorney.
if so how much will that cost the boat motor and trailer are not worth a lot.
