I am being sued for Slander, Libel and Defamation. I got a summons can't afford an attorney and I have 20 days to respnd to it. I am not sure what I am suppose to respond. Everything I said was the truth and I never signed a general release (it's the company where I got my boobs done at.) Please help. Thanks Pamela

This is a serious allegation and if you are not careful and do not follow proper procedures it may cost you your good name and a lot of money.

A complaint is always attached to a summons; therefore, you are not responding to the summons, but you are actually supposed to respond to the complaint. The complaint should have statements in numbered paragraphs. You are either going to agree (or admit), disagree (or deny), or you do not have any knowledge regarding the allegations contained in a numbered paragraph.

It is best to hire an attorney to assist you in responding to complaints in order to protect your rights.
