being sued by credit card co.

I`M BEING SUED FOR 2,203.93 OR LITTLE MORE I`M NOT SURE. THEY SAY I GOT THE CARD IN MARCH OF 99 AND HE SAID I MADE PAYMENT MARCH 03.I GOT HEARING 02-05-07 SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA,COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES.WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE AND WELL I SEE A JUDGE.HE SAID THAT I DON`T NEED TO SHOW UP IN COURT BUT I`M GOING ANYWAY! isn`t 7 years limit?
