Civil Judgement

I am a small business owner. I was in business with a distibutor, buying products, reselling them on the internet basically. I made some bad decisions and ended up owing them quite a bit of money. I returned a bumch of product, they only creditied me for about half of it. So, they contacted a collection agency, lawyers, etc and now have a civil judgement filed against me. It is for about $30,000. Before, when they were calling me, every single day by the way, I actually talked to one of them (collection agency people) and set up a sort of payment plan, for about half the total of the judgement, but once I agreed to this I never heard from them again. So this civil thing is filed, what are my options? Can I declare bankruptcy? Part of the problem is that when I returned stuff they never gave me credit for all the inventory returned...HELP please....

Hello jer:

I dunno. Seems to me a bigger part of the problem was that you didn't defend yourself in court. IF they screwed you, THAT was your opportunity to say so.

See a bankruptcy attorney.
