| You see if you had been savvy when you paid for the car with your own money, you might have asked the car dealer to list only you on the Bill of Sale and that way perhaps the State would have let you title it in your name (In the state I live in, a minor can have a vehicle titled in his or her name. But then the car dealer or whomever sold the vehicle to you, if they were savvy, then they would not have sold a car to a minor. There are legal liability and contractual liability reasons why the seller might not want to sell a vehicle to a minor and then I guess some states will not let a minor title a vehicle in his/her name --- I dont know..... I mention this only because the first answer you recevied mentioned flat out that you could not. Frankly if I were your parent, had just asked you to leave I would not want my vehicle on the street, in parking lots etc or anywhere for that matter, titled in my name.... I might incur some legal liability since it simply was registered in my name. I know this didnt answer you question as to why you cant have the veh titled in your name.... there are many reasons as you can see. |
