Liability for foreign visitor's medical bills

My father in law from China will visit us soon. I will get him visitors health insurance but it won't cover everything (such as pre existing conditions). If he should need care for something not covered by the insurance, will I be liable for the bills he can not pay for himself?

No.

He is an adult.

Just make sure you do NOT sign anything if he has to be admitted to a hospital which says that you agree to pay if he doesn't.
