Hi all,

I have lived at my house now for 2 years and when we moved in we had an above ground pool, our neighbors (we live in a twin) kids are asking us to use the pool and I keep saying no! My mistake was 2 weeks ago when the youngest girl of 3 (16 years old) asked if she could use the pool because she was having her birthday party and I saId we were leaving that weekend but if she was having it on the day we returned that would be fine, as long as we were there. Well what a mistake that was, her brother asked 2 days ago and I saId no, now last night at get this 10:30 at night, if she could use the pool, now my husband answered the door at this time and said no it is 10:30 and my wife would get p.o. well she then said well she said if you were home it was OK, he then explained what time it was and the answer was no. What do I do I am not the type of person you want on your bad side, Im a good person but don't p*ss me off or constantly bug me. These people have no bills, mortgage etc, they need to get a pool! What do I do, the people are nice but they have no brains, the parents are the same way, the mother has already asked me (while I was at work) if she and her daughters and one of their friends could go swimming in the pool, I of course said of course not, I do not feel comfortable with anyone in my pool when Im not home, my own 21 year old son isn't even allowed to go in with his friends when Im not home! Please if anyone out there has the answer let me know. Again the people are nice, just so laid back and basically the kind of people you give them an inch they will take a mile!

The next time they ask, tell them your insurance coverage will not cover non family using the pool. So please stop asking as the answer will have to be no.

The next time they ask why not give them the business card of your pool contractor?

Put up a fence.

Option 1: at night when they are all asleep (or when they are on holiday) go round into their back garden and dig a hole and fill it with water then say 'you have your own pool now'(obviously not too big a hole because that would take too much effort)

Option 2: get a dog then say' I can't because the dog might bite you ' especially if you leave it out during the day even better if it is a doberman because they have a rep for being good guard dogs, ( we have a giant trampoline in our back garden so when kids come round asking I say 'cant dogs out')

(p.s does a twin mean you share a back garden cause if so the dog 1 is a bit pointless)

Were you being serious? I can't tell, option 1 would be tresspassing and destruction of property, and there are better ways to handle a situation than either of these.

Kind of both, yes it would be trespassing but your not supposed to leave any links back to yourself (thats how you get away with it) and also when she said 'twin' I'm not sure if they share a back garden (as people have said put up a fence) so technically it wouldn't be trespassing if they share. Plus I was just putting in some outside options take them seriously if you want to

Hi there... I live in a twin, so it is a house with 2 sides... im on the left side and they are on the right side, we don't share a yard, we have our own, thank god!

Your inexperience shows. Since this is the LEGAL board, people really want LEGAL solutions to their questions. Since you don't know the law, maybe you shouldn't answer questions here. Plus, your answers are going to cause them MORE trouble, and we don't really want to screw them like that, do we?

Of course, over there on the relationship boards, your opinion would be welcome. Here, it isn't.
