| Without seeing it I can't be sure, but yes: roots near or at the surface will eventually give you major grief. You may need to make a choice between the tree and the patio.
Typically some surface roots can be cut out without damaging the tree, but I'd strongly suggest you get a landscaping professional in there to give you an opinion as to how and if it can work...that is, how much of those roots you can cut out.
If I were you I'd call a landscaping company for a free estimate. With it you'll get the scoop and be able to decide from there where to go with it. |
