Suboxone (buprenorphine) usually goes undetected in a standard drug screen (which is step 1 in the hair test). Tests are available that can detect any of the semi-synthetic opioids, including buprenorphine, but are not included in standard or even most expanded screens.

Extended and heavy usage can result in detection even on the standard opiate screen.

Thank you very much I have only used it a few times and nothing else but in a month I need to take a hair test. Should I be nervous

It is highly unlikely that it would show up. The lab would have to be specifically testing for it, and that is seldom done. Even then it would have to be present in the hair and that is hit and miss unless you are a heavy user, contrary to testing industry propaganda.

When dealing with the semi-synthetics the most common complaint is that they don't show up in compliance drug testing. That is where they want to make certain the individual is taking their prescribed medication. There they are specifically testing for the drug yet false negative results are very common.

With hair testing heavy or frequent use is the determining factor in most instances.
