Rash on the back of my neck and lower back.

I've been getting this rash that is almost hive like feeling (when I touch it, it feels like welts like you get with hives) it itches but I can't see it.

The rash is on my lower back, and the hairline of my neck.

In the morning it is the worst and then it seems to get better throughout the day and then at night it gets bad again (during sleep) I often have to rub it because it feels oily and itchy(on the nape of my neck, the back part doesn't seem to come and go as often).

When I wake up in the morning it is back to the same routine, very itchy at this time of day.

Anyone ever heard of something like this?

Out of curiosity, have you had yourself checked for lice? This is a common symptom in the early phases of lice.

If it is the case, don't be ashamed. Believe it or not it is actually the cleanest people who get lice, not the dirty people.

That is actually the very first thing I looked for on both myself and my daughter... no lice, thankfully it is such a PITA to get rid of. We had to do that once when my daughter was in preschool.

I routinely check now (even though she is in 5th grade now and no reaccurance after the intital bout of it... kids pick it up all the time and bring it home).

I'm not sure, because mine wasn't as severe as yours sounds, but it may be heat rash. I get it on my back in the summer sometimes. If it is heat rash all you can do is wash it every day, I've never heard of a real cure.

I thought about heat rash, but don't really remember much about it. Is it welt like, like hives? I seem to remember from the days when my dd was a baby (babies seem notories for heat rash) that they are tiny bumps.

my heat rash was small bumps, but my friend had a heat rash that were large very itchy bumps, although she may have been misdiagnosed or lying. Her's eventually went away and she didn't do anything but wash it alot. Hope you get better!

Is it possible that you could have bed bugs?

Anything is possible I suppose... I'm not sure how they would get there or how to get rid of them, or even tell if I have them.

I just thought of that since you said it bothers you most at night.

The best way to tell what is wrong is to see your doctor, then he can tell you what to do from there.

If you do have bed bugs, you have to completely scrub the whole area that is affected. Things like your bedsheets and comforter should be washed.

But really the only way to tell is to see your doctor.

I knew I would probably hear that... I'm going to try home treatment on whatever I can for as long as possible because right now I am an unemployed (got laid off in April and have been looking ever since) single mom with no health insurance for myself a doctors visit to tell me there is nothing he can do (in the case of heat rash for instance) is really not going to help me.

Which also should have been pointed out in the OP, stress
