navel piercing

i got my navel pierced last summer with a barbell. it got infected and i had to take it out. i want to get it repierced and i heard that its more resistant to infection if you get it pierced with a ring instead of a barbell. is this true? i just dont want to get it pierced all over again if it will just get infected again.

If you get it pierced with a ring rather than a barbell it gives it room for swelling. A barbell can put pressure on the piercing and cause it to get infected. Get it pierced with a ring first, and after it heals you can put a barbell back in

i have my belly pierced and the same thing happend to me because the place i went to they pierced it with a ring and i had to change it and of course it got infected.i got it repierced a few months later and they pierced it with a barbell..personally,i think a barbell is better because thats what ur suppose to get it pierced with but everyone is different i guess...well anyways good luck with that and whatever place you go to get it pierced just pierce it with whatever they suggest
