lump under arm

i have a lump under my arm. it's about in the center of my arm pit. mild discomfort. it's been there for about a week or so. i tried to pop it as if it were a zit but nothing came out. it felt like it popped under the skin and it hurt for the next couple days then started to go away but it's back just as before. i'm worried about trying to pop it again in case it's something more serious.

I had something like that when I was about 10 years old. I went to the dermatologist and he gave me an antibiotic.

We hope that it is not a tumor. But, that is one of the possibilities if it does not go away.

You had mentioned that "it felt like it popped under the skin and it hurt for the next couple days then started to go away." Cancer wouldn't go away. Maybe it is just an ingrown hair. I get them on the back of my neck from time to time and they can be uncomfortable.

Maybe it could be a reaction to a change in deodorant? Clothing under the arms that is too tight?

If something persists in being there, please see a doctor.

Could be a cyst, too. Any lump that lasts more than a few days should be investigated by a professional.
